If you were a kid in the 1980s, this movie will be a total letdown. None of the characters reflect their cartoon and toy counterparts very well. Megatron, the evil leader of The Decepticons, no longer transforms into a Gun... That's not cool nowadays. Some kid might shoot himself in the head while attempting to transform the gun into Megatron. As a result, Megatron is a Jet Hybrid vehicle. Not as silly as Optimus Prime, mind you... The leader of the Autobots parades around with fancy flame detailing! There were many scenes that take place at night. This sadly makes it very hard to catch all the cool stuff that's happening. It'snot like the production needs to hide its FX in the shadows: Thedaytime freeway chase is incredible. Ok movie. I wish the characters were like the toys we remember.
