Wow, wow, wow! The CGI-animated movie Beowulf, directed by Rober Zemeckis, is a must see in IMAX 3D. This movie is a spectacular 3D accomplishment from beginning to end. You are not interrupted by having to take your 3D glasses on and off like you were in Superman 3D - the whole film is done in 3D and in my opinion has set a new standard for movies today. If Beowulf is any example of what future movies can offer I will be more than happy to start going to movie theatres again. The Beowulf movie was by far the most visually spectacular movie I have ever seen, and for this it gets two big thumbs up. But the 3D vote aside, I found the movie a bit slow in parts and quite ridiculous in others. There where a lot of groans from the audience during the movie, especially when it came to the hero Beowulf and his fight/nudity scenes. The fight scenes in Beowulf are action packed, incredibly violent and leave very little to the imagination. Again, only with CGI-animation could you actually have action scenes such as these. The movie has a PG-13 rating, which is the lowest age rating I have ever seen for a movie that has such graphic violence. The 3D-Imax version of Beowulf is a must see. I haven't seen this movie in a regular theatre and I wouldn't pay to do so.
